This excursion brings us to the Argentine countryside where you can enjoy a day on a ranch (estancia) and discover its traditional dance and music, joining a true Festival Gaucho. Typical empanadas and Argentine wine will be served at the welcoming party. Later, you will enjoy a delicious Argentine-style barbecue. A folkloric show with music and dance will take place. Typical gauchos will show their horse-riding skills. A horse exhibition and the sortija will also form part of the show. Hop on a typical sulki to get a real feeling of the way of life of the gaucho. Itinerary: 08.30 am: Pick up at your hotel in Buenos Aires. 10.00 am: Reception at San Antonio de Areco by our guide, who will show you the picturesque streets of the historical center, pulperias (old gaucho bars), the renowned Draghi’s Silversmith Museum, traditional handicraft, and the Ricardo Güiraldes Gaucho Museum. 12.00 noon: Departure to an exclusive Estancia where you will be greeted with empanadas and a delicious Argentine asado (traditional barbecue). With the guide, you will take a tour to visit the Estancia while hearing stories about this historic working ranch. Various activities will be offered: horseback riding or carriage, traditional folkloric dancers and music and impressive destrezas gauchas (Gaucho skills demonstration). You will also have the chance to discover and taste the ritual of the mate (typical infusion)! During the summer, the Estancia opens its 2 swimming pools. 04.30 pm: Departure to Buenos Aires

We depart from the hotel to Puerto Pañuelo, located 25 km away from downtown, in front of Llao Llao. We start a 35-minute navigation until reaching Puerto Anchorena, located in the central and narrowest area of Isla Victoria. There are different options for guided or free walks on demarcated trails. Every corner of the island with its wonderful landscapes, its rich history and its stunning natural environment, make this tour an experience to be fully enjoyed. The excursion continues with a second navigation to the Quetrihué Peninsula where the other great attraction of the promenade is located: Los Arrayanes National Park, where a 25-minute walk is made to observe magnificent specimens of these trees, with striking bark and heights that exceed 15 meters. We return to Puerto Pañuelo in a last 50-minute navigation to find the transfer that will return us to Bariloche city.

The first strategic point when travelling by the Los Alerces National Park is Villa Futalaufquen, located 50 km away from Esquel and bounded on the west by the majestic Andes Mountain Range. It occupies a total area of 263,000 hectares that place it fourth in size among the national parks of Argentina. Its proximity to the mountain range allows the development of a dense Andean Patagonian forest and in the area of higher rainfall a Valdivian forest grows where the Alerce or Lahuan stands out. This millennial tree is slow growing and its specimens can live between 3000 and 4000 years of age and measure more than 70 meters high. We also visit the Museum of Interpretation, Rock Paintings - 2.5 km from Villa Futalaufquen -, Hotel Futalaufquen and Puerto Limonao. We continue to the north to see the Irigoyen waterfall and then we skirt the Futalaufquen lake; we can see the Arrayanes River that starts in the Verde Lake, cross a bridge and walk approximately 1 hour between the Patagonian forest and the Valdivian jungle. Here we will have time to have lunch (not included) before going back to Esquel, passing through Trevelin.

Los Alerces National Park - created in 1937 - is one of the most important in the country for the incomparable beauty of its forests, offering different routes and services that allow visitors to experience it in different ways. Located 35 km from Trevelin and 50 km from Esquel, it has an area of 263,000 hectares. Its proximity to the mountain range allows the development of a dense Andean Patagonian forest, although a Valdivian jungle grows where the Alerce or "Lahuan" stands out: they grow very slowly and their specimens can live between 3,000 and 4,000 years of age and measure up to 60 meters high. Leleque Museum is located at the entrance Cholila town (means “beautiful valley”). 13 thousand years of Patagonian history are exhibited here: from the entrance of the original towns, the archaeological finds, their paintings and rock engravings. Those objects that passed from generation to generation represent the passage of time in a region with a strong cultural identity.

Departure from Puerto Madryn; after traveling 70 km through Patagonian steppe, we reach the southern end of the mouth of the Golfo Nuevo where Punta Ninfas lighthouse is located, a valuable reference for navigators entering this area. On the beaches that surround Punta Ninfas we can see breeding groups of elephants and seals. We then continue to El Pedral, an authentic Patagonian estancia built at the beginning of the 20th century. The materials and furniture were brought from Europe by boat and landed on the coasts of the estancia itself. Then we went to the Magellan penguin colony located on El Pedral seashore, a short distance from the house. A guided tour between their nests allows us to better know these curious animals. In summer we recommend a cap and sunglasses, as well as to carry a bottle of water. At noon, we have lunch in the estancia: grilled lamb with a variety of salads, dessert and coffee (includes drinks and wine). In the afternoon you can enjoy the pool and the pétanque court, as well as take walks around the property or have a tea/coffee before returning back our hotel.

The Protected Natural Area of Punta Tombo hosts every year –between September and April- the largest continental colony in the world of Magellanic Penguins. By the Atlantic Ocean shores, surrounded by farms dedicated to wool production, it is the place penguins choose for their reproduction. In front of the sea, half million penguins protect their nests from depredators, look for food (little fish, anchovies and squids) for their offspring, fill the air with their squawks and paint the landscape in black and white. The best time to observe them is in the morning and at sunset, when it is not so hot and penguins increase their activities. To reach Punta Tombo, it is necessary to drive about 110 miles towards the south from Puerto Madryn. The access route is mostly paved, but there are about 12 miles of gravel at the end of the road. At the entrance, the Centro Tombo provides various rooms where it is possible to learn more about the area's wildlife. Departure from hotel in the morning; we will get into the reserve to walk near the nests. A big group of penguins on the beach can be observed from a cliff. In the afternoon we return and stop in Trelew City ("Lewis town" in welsh language, Lewis Jones was one of the pioneers who came to these distant lands in the late nineteenth century). MEF E. Feruglio Paleontology Museum and visit (optional). Then continue to Gaiman Colony where the exquisite Welsh tea can be tasted (optional). Arrival in Puerto Madryn late in the afternoon.

Early in the morning we depart to Valdés Peninsula. At the entrance the fee to the World Heritage Area is paid; then arrival at the Ameghino Isthmus where we stop at the Interpretation Center. We continue to Puerto Pirámides where (between June and December) we can embark for a close encounter with the ballena franca Whale (optional). After that we visit Punta Pirámides lobería (seals settlement). Then we leave to Caleta Valdés where we will have time to have lunch (optional) and we will see an elephant seals settlement. We will pass by a penguin rookery in formation, where (between September and April) we will have the opportunity to see some specimens of the "Magellan" type from the top of a cliff. During the tour we can observe Patagonia typical fauna (maras, choiques, guanacos, and piches) and different birds. In case we fail to sail in the morning for bad weather, we will go to Pirámides Port for whales sighting. Late in the afternoon we arrive in our accommodation.

Puerto Madryn is one of the best places in the world for whale watching. The morphology of Patagonia offers calm and protected waters, where this giant mammals has chosen to get birth to their calves and for mating (as other species also do), turning this World Heritage in a huge nursery. Puerto Piramides becomes the undisputed place to watch the curious and friendly behavior of these animals aboard special boats. This village is located on Valdes Peninsula and it is the only location where whale watching boat trips are available. The boat ride has duration of 1.5 hour; visitors used to take a full day tour to Valdes Peninsula (departing from Puerto Madryn) and add a stop at Puerto Piramides for this optional boat trip. Lunch is optional.

The journey leaves from Salta, but really begins once arrived to Purmamarca Village where time will be enough to observe the Seven Colored Hill, the Church and the Craft Market on the square, and a small walk along its narrow streets. We continue towards the town of Tilcara where we visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera, and then we cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera del Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures taken because of the daylight. We visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School) are kept. Arrival to Humahuaca will be at noon, this town has an important Church and the Independence Monument (the Indian) of the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch (not included) we’ll observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Paintor's palette) framing the town of Maimara. Return to Salta.

Leaving Tilcara in the afternoon we drive 42 km up to Humahuaca. Once there we headed east on Provincial Route 73, which leads us into Coctaca culture valleys. We stop to taste a regional coca tea and then back to the path uphill to the 4,200 m.a.s.l. where we can enjoy excellent views of the Cerro Multicolor (multicolor hill) in Serrania del Hornocal. Beautiful panoramic views where we can appreciate and understand Humahuaca region geography. A unique attraction worth visiting.

Parque das Aves is an internationally recognized rescue and conservation centre for birds, located in the middle of the rich and exuberant Atlantic Rainforest, neighbor of the Iguaçu National Park. Backstage Experience is your opportunity to have a look during a tour that lasts 1 ½ hours. It includes access to restricted areas and the privileged contact with some birds, featuring feeding of toucans and other species and the opportunity to better understand the conservation and rescue programs at Parque das Aves.
