We begin our excursion heading north of the island along National Route No. 3, we will pass in front of the most popular ski center in the area, Cerro Castor. We cross the Andes and start the real 4x4 adventure! We go through huge mud and water roads until we reach the imposing shore of Lake Fagnano. At this point, our guests take a moment to contemplate this extraordinary place and its unique energy. After this, we open roads giving more adrenaline to our trip. We enter the forest to walk through an exclusive area, reaching Lago Escondido where our refuge is located. At this point, our team prepares visitors an Argentine-style barbecue, accompanied with Malbec wine. Finally, we divide our group into pairs and take the canoes to explore the lake. This tour departs from Touristic Pier and proposes a navigation through Ushuaia Bay and Beagle Channel to contemplate the city of Ushuaia, in one of its best postcards. This city offers a unique combination of mountains, sea and forests. Olivia and Cinco Hermanos hills, the Fique and Túnel ranches can also be observed. The navigation brings us closer to the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse where you can see a colony of cormorants. On the way back you can photograph the Isla de los Lobos - to enjoy this attractive marine mammal, the seal - and the Despard Island, imperial cormorants’ natural habitat. During the trip we observe Magellan cormorants and the majestic imperial cormorant, albatrosses, fullman petrels, giant petrels, squas and twenty different species of sea birds.

We depart from Ushuaia heading north to the detour of the provincial route “J” that will take us back to the Beagle Channel. We make a stop at Laguna Victoria, where we enjoy a snack. Once we arrive at Brown Bay we will deviate to see the famous flag tres, particularity provided by the southwest winds of the área. After enjoying this place for a while we will return to the vehicle to go in the direction of Puerto Almanza which is the main port of artisanal fishermen where they are mainly dedicated to the capture of crab. Passing Puerto Almanza a few kilometers away we will reach the house of one of the most recognized fishermen in this area, not only for her activity and trajectory but also because she is the only captain of the Beagle Channel. She is waiting for us at her house to go step by step tasting all the dishes of the amazing Beagle Channel making us spend a gastronomic experience and social encounter that will be unforgettable. This tour shows us diverse panoramic view points through which we can get an idea of the building industry and demographic growth of our city. It lasts around an hour during which the guide will give us a brief explanation of Ushuaia’s background, its urban development and the changes occurred throughout times. The final stop of the tour is in front of the End of the World Museum. Known as the southernmost point of South America, 3.171 km separate Ushuaia from Buenos Aires.

A day in a fishermen village: we invite you to live an unforgettable day in a picturesque village by the sea, sailing, fishing your own king crab and cooking it in a family house learning its culinary secrets. Early morning departure on route 3 to Route "J": we will take a gravel road through a dense native forest with peat bogs, to the coast where we take a 1-hour walk through the forest to a busy waterfall. We will make a comforting stop to have a coffee with snacks. Back to the vehicle we went to Puerto Almanza, the southernmost fishing port of Argentina and from there by another gravel road after about 15km we arrived at a small and adorable village dedicated to the artisanal fishing of king crab, crayfish, mussels, cholgas and other typical mollusks in this area. We embark to participate in the fishing of the spider crab; upon return they will teach us how to prepare it in Patagonian style cooked with sea water.

Departure from a downtown office in Ushuaia (very close to the port), towards the glacial valleys near the city. A few kilometers from Ushuaia, the Tierra Mayor Valley and the primitive forest begin to open up to welcome us for a walk to reach one of the gems in Tierra del Fuego. We begin a walk through the primitive forest, which for at least 7000 years made life possible for the first inhabitants in these latitudes. Leaving the forest, surrounded by mountains, we find ourselves in a dreamlike landscape: an imposing valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The glacial water of the Esmeralda River encounters the engineering feats of the beavers, which found some sort of a paradise here: Surrounded by plenty of food, and despite of the absence of predators, they still apply themselves to their favorite entertainment: the construction of dams. Then we start the ascent towards the Esmeralda lagoon (due to the peat -spongy mass of wet organic material- we suggest the use of rubber boots or perhaps bring spare shoes). The walk to Emerald Lagoon does not present much of a challenge to exercise-loving travelers: with the appropriate clothing, this walk is quite easy and very panoramic. After crossing the valley, we leave behind the lenga forest and begin a sustained ascent along a slightly steep slope. Emerald Lagoon is located at the foot of the Ojo de Albino glacier, between Cerro Bonete and Cordón Toribio in an area of wonderful chromatic amplitude. This is one of the most impressive landscapes in this region! The way back becomes shorter, in a little steep descent, with new panoramic views. We reach the refuge to enjoy dinner (with drinks included, before returning Ushuaia. Attractives: Tierra Mayor Valley, Emerald Lagoon.

The train departs from End of the World station, by the same embankment prisoners walked 100 years ago. It goes into Cañadon del Toro, cross Pipo River over "the burned bridge" where you can see Old Wooden Bridge ruins under the new railroads. Then stops at “La Macarena Cascade" where passengers will find a reconstruction of a typical settlement of an indigenous group who inhabited these lands for hundreds of years: The Yamanas. Now the train enters Tierra del Fuego National Park following the Pipo River course and continues across areas that show us traces left by prisoners in their daily routine to cut trees for nearly half a century of interrupted work. After skirting the Turbal, characteristic Tierra del Fuego soil, on which is developed a moss called Sphagnum, the train arrives at “Park Station”. Throughout the tour the visitor will be accompanied by a bilingual English-Spanish guide, explaining in detail the "prisoners Train" history. OPTIONAL TO MAKE WITH TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK.

Departure in the morning to northeast direction and following Route 3; after crossing the mountain range we will discover peat bogs, small glaciers, ski centers, waterfalls and dry trees, due to the presence and activity of the numerous beavers. From Rancho Hambre, we will begin to ascend until reaching Garibaldi Pass following the route mountain path to a panoramic point. From there - the highest point of the province with 430 m.a.s.l. - we will have a beautiful view of both Escondido and Fagnano Lakes. After a short rest in the viewpoint of Lago Escondido we will continue the trip passing near a sawmill to finally arrive at Lago Fagnano, the largest in the province. On the way back we will stop at a typical restaurant in a winter center to have lunch (not included).

The most complete option to enjoy the Fuegian snow! We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley; the adventure begins when we go on the vehicle, specially equipped with caterpillar tracks, to cross the great snowy plain. The tour goes from the valley to the forest, ending up at Refugio del Hachero, where we´ll have time to take pictures in a dream landscape. After the instructions given by our guide, we put on snowshoes and go towards Refugio Nunatak, where we´ll have lunch in a heated dome and have some free time to enjoy the sleds. This full-day excursion takes passengers for a ride, to navigate, to walk and to make discoveries in one of the roughest and most beautiful places in Beagle Channel. Once we arrive to Lasiphashaj river, and wearing rubber boots, overpants and life-jackets provided by us, the group starts a canoeing adventure down the river that leads into the sea. Once canoeing on the Beagle Channel, we set course to the ranch. Along the way we may encounter wildlife: lots of different sea birds. Also, it is not unusual to find sea lions sunbathing in little islands in our way to Harberton port. After 2 hours on the rafts and a short stop on mainland, we leave on a motor boat towards Martillo Island, where we will have the chance to see penguins in their breeding lair. Then the motor boat take us to our main atraccion at Gable Island, where we have some snacks, good wine and a delicious meal. Leaving Ushuaia and heading towards the Garibaldi Pass across the Andes, enjoy a great lookout of the Escondido Lake, a small marvel hidden at the end of a valley. Here starts a tour running old unused roads, passing by Fagnano and Escondido Lakes. On board powerful 4x4 vehicles, the guides drive the passengers to discover the forest by impossible mud roads, roads that become paths ending at the Lake coast. Departure from Touristic Pier sailing through the wide Ushuaia Bay until reaching the Beagle Channel, through Paso Chico. There we sail around both Birds and Seals islands (they belong to Bridges archipelago). Arriving at the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse we can appreciate imperial and rocky cormorant’s colonies. We continue sailing towards the East enjoying wonderful landscapes of the channel and mountains; at this point we will see Puerto Almanza on the Argentinean coast and Puerto Williams on the Chilean coast. Then we will arrive at Isla Martillo where we will observe a colony of Magellanic penguins. We continue sailing to Estancia Harberton where we disembark to visit the ranch and the Acatushún Austral Marine Mammal and Bird Museum (not included). The return to the Touristic Pier in Ushuaia is a ground transfer by Complementary Route J and Route 3; a stop at the lookout point of Garibaldi Pass will allow us to observe and photograph the lakes of the area: Escondido and Fagnano. Important: navigation from the Touristic Pier located in Ushuaia to the Estancia; ground transfer to return to the same pier.

After a brief safety talk, we take off from the old Ushuaia airport, to West direction to appreciate Beagle Channel and Mount Susana. Then we turn to the right heading East to enjoy a wonderful view of Ushuaia, the Andes mountain range, the Martial Glacier, the Cinco Hermanos mountains and the emblematic Mount Olivia. We will fly over the downtown area with its characteristic buildings such as the Presidio, the Government House and the local port. Returning to the heliport.

After a brief safety talk at the office located in the old Ushuaia airport, we will take off to the North flying over the Ushuaia Bay, the port and the city to enter the Olivia River Valley, appreciating the majestic Mount Olivia and Mount Cinco Hermanos. We will begin to see the magnificent Carbajal Valley, with its surprising composition of peat, accessing a second mountain range that houses the beautiful Laguna Esmeralda. We will turn south, crossing again the Andes Range and heading towards the Beagle Channel, to fly over the old Estancia Remolino: there we will be able to appreciate its abandoned building and facilities, and the Sarmiento Ship stranded in that bay since 1912. On our return, we will follow the coast of the Beagle Channel to observe the Estancia Túnel and the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Just before reaching our destination, we will make a landing on the top of a mountain in the Andes where we can descend to appreciate the magical environment and enjoy a unique moment, accompanied by a champagne toast. Finally, we return to the heliport.

We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. Our Musher instructor will welcome us and give us an introductory chat about the dogsledding world, while we visit the kennels. Then we´ll receive the instructions about sled assembly and driving techniques. We´ll put the harnesses on the dogs, we hitch them to the sled and off we go! This intense adventure is great fun! As we go, our sled caravan heads into the snowy valley until we arrive at Refugio del Hachero, where we´ll recover energy with some hot beverages. After a short rest, mushers and dogs continue the journey through forests, frozen rivers and experiencing the magic white silence. Maximum 8 pax and 4 sleds. Passengers must be in good health, must like dogs and have a team spirit. Dogsledding is comparable to cross country skiing, so reasonable fitness is required.

North from to city of Ushuaia, 100 km long Lake Fagnano divides the island in two. On our way there, we take you first to know Lake Escondido, to experience it, and to row in its waters during this tour that joins adventure, physical activity and fun. After crossing the Andes Range, and some big glacial valleys and peat bogs, at Garibaldi Pass, we’ll get the first view of Lake Escondido. We’ll drive by the coast of this lake to later go on its waters in very safe and stable canoes. As soon as we finish the canoeing activity, we will get into the forest. Through impossible paths, we’ll defy mud, water, fallen trees, and pot-holes… Our guides are experts in off-road driving, and they’ll take us on a roller-coaster like ride through the forest until we reach the endless shore of Lake Fagnano, one of the most pristine areas in Tierra del Fuego, where we will find shelter in our refuge. Departing from Touristic Pier with east direction, we will sail towards Isla de los Pájaros (Birds Island) and Isla de los Lobos (Seals Island). We will sail near Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse passing in front of the city of Puerto Williams (Chile) to then enter the Mackinlay Pass in direction of Isla Martillo. There we will stop to enjoy a wonderful view of the Magellanic Penguin colony. We will begin the return to the city of Ushuaia following the south coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. On the way back we will pass the Estancia Remolino where we will observe the hull of the passenger and cargo ship Monte Sarmiento, shipwrecked there at the beginning of the 20th century. Every land has its own secrets but not everyone is chosen to know them: a lighthouse in a lonely cape, a mysterious sunken ship for 40 years and a distinguished antique “estancia” are some of the icons that reveal the unknown stories of Tierra del Fuego. Very early in the morning departure from Ushuaia following National Route 3 and crossing The Andes through the Garibaldi Pass. We stop by the little town of Tolhuin, heart of the island, to visit La Unión Bakery. This is a traditional meeting point for both, locals and visitors, and it is part of the charm of this village. By midday we come to the Provincial Route “A”, where we took a gravel road heading toward the Atlantic Ocean and the San Pablo Cape. At this point, we hiked up to an isolated mountain with an abandoned lighthouse at the end. Climbing to the top of this beacon we will appreciate “Desdemona”, an abandoned ship for almost 40 years ago which invites us to sail through time. It happened on a cold winter morning in1983 when this enormous craft ran aground on the shores of the Argentine Sea. After exploring this mysterious giant, we visit Estancia Rolito. This lovely ranch, that keeps the spirit of a family business based on sheep farming tradition, is the first ranch to open its gates to rural tourism.

We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. The guide will explain the order of the activities and we´ll start the journey crossing the valley in the middle of the winter´s night, a torchlight trail will lead us through the forest to the hut, where the cook waits for us with brochettes and stew, hot wine, a selection of wines and the specialty “loggers‘coffee”. Dinner is enlivened with some guitar playing. The return journey is with husky dogsledding and snow bike.

This excursion proposes to visit the only National Park located in Tierra del Fuego Island, which is located 12 km west of Ushuaia city near the border with Chile. Within the National Park you can see the local flora composed of lenga, cherry, ñires and different species of shrubs and flowers that reach a great height and that become truly beautiful during winter. Fauna is represented by both native and foreign species, such as the red fox, beaver, rabbit and different species of birds. The Park hosts wonderful landscapes such as Ensenada Bay, Roca Lake and Lapataia Bay, which will also be visited along the way, including a short walk along the lakeshore -where we will observe beavers- until reaching Lapataia Bay, located at the end of the National Route Nº 3 (Pan-American Route) 3063 Km away from Buenos Aires city. Finally, here you will feel the "End of the World"...

This complete journey proposes a walk and a relaxed, easy activity in inflatable canoes, in an area where sea, rivers, mountains and forests create a unique place in Argentina. With specialized guides visitors can learn a lot about this unique paradise in the world in just one day. Once we took the Coastal Path (15 km from Ushuaia City) we will get carried away by the this place while exploring on foot, in touch with Nature, 7,5 km of medium-difficulty hike. This walk invites us to discover a real paradise, where the mountains can be reached from the shore of the sea, and the fresh water of rivers and lakes coexists with the marine coast. Near Lake Acigami (former Lake Roca) we will have lunch in our comfortable structural tents to be protected from the weather. After a short break -and after fitting the rubber boots, overpants and lifejackets- we will paddle easily in an inflatable canoe (duckie type, very safe and stable ) from Acigami Lake, down the very slowly flowing Lapataia and Ovando Rivers. Our journey begins in fresh water until we reach the sea, in Lapataia Bay. For about an hour, we will see the flora and fauna of inaccessible places, approaching the point of view enjoyed by the Yámana several centuries ago. We will finally return Ushuaia by bus. We leave from the hotel towards Tierra Mayor Valley. In this great snowy valley, we start the huskie dogsledding expedition; after crossing the valley, we get into the ancient beech forest following an old lumberjack trail until we reach the Refugio del Hachero (small log hut heated by wood). We say goodbye to the Huskies and our guide will help us to put on the snowshoes (without them we wouldn´t be able to walk, since the snow is about one meter deep). Our aim is to reach Alvear Ice waterfall and the lookout over the valley. The way down to the hut is fast and great fun, and once upon arrival we´ll recover energy with a delicious hot chocolate. From the hut, we return to Tierra Mayor Valley walking with snowshoes.

We leave the city through National Road No 3 until we reach the starting point where we get ready to continue on foot. We will walk around 2 hours from the leaving point until we reach the lagoon, going throu the sub antarctic woods, the peat valleys covered with snow, frozen rivers with beavers dams. Once we get to the lagoon, covered with snow, we will discover that its surroundings make the place a specially charming one. There we will stop to regain strength with a lunch box and a hot drink, before starting our way back along the lane which led us there.
